Most recommended research in Research gate for Muazu Mamman

Leaf epidermal structure and stomata ONTOGENY of some legumes in Kano state Nigeria.

The goal was to explore the potential of leaf epidermal characteristics and stomata development (ontogeny) as tools for distinguishing between legume species.

The study compared two leguminous species, groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) and bambaranut (Vigna subterranea). Researchers analyzed the leaves' upper and lower surfaces, focusing on epidermal cell shapes, stomata types and distribution (amphistomatic - present on both surfaces, more abundant below), and stomata size (pore length and width). They also investigated stomata development patterns (ontogeny).

While the study identified some variations in these features between the two species, it didn't delve into creating a broader classification system for identifying numerous legume taxa. However, the findings suggest that examining leaf epidermal structures and stomata ontogeny could be a promising avenue for future research in legume species identification.
